About Us
Our values are at the heart of everything we do.
Client Experience.
Client experience is of utmost importance to the Akos Construction team. Our goal is to make the remodeling process as predictable and stress-free as possible for our clients. The goal is for every step of the process to be planned and executed with intention and attention to detail. Learn more about our five-step process.
Relationships.
Sustainability.
Akos Construction is in the vanguard of a paradigm shift within the construction industry, drawing on science and technological advancements to create resilient and comfortable homes.
As a team of Phius Certified Builders (CPHB), we aim to bring passive house principles to every project we undertake, regardless of whether we seek certification. Our goal is to build projects that are not only beautiful, but healthy for our clients, their families, the community, and the environment. Several of our projects have been certified Zero Energy homes through Earth Advantage.
With the abundance of older homes in the Portland area, substantial whole home remodels are one of our primary specialties. Our goal is to rehabilitate these spaces to ensure they’re around for another 100 years with minimal maintenance. Older homes are a historic resource we want to invest in.

Meet the Owner
Akos Construction was founded in 2013 by Isaac Frost. As a Portland native, Isaac has a deep connection to the communities around the Portland metro area. He has seen these communities and neighborhoods grow and change, and is personally invested in seeing that growth completed in an environmentally responsible manner.
Involved in the construction industry since his time at Oregon State University, Isaac feels driven by his desire to be a part of the beauty, diversity and resilience of Portland, as well as the preservation and rehabilitation of the historic homes that provide a link to the roots of our city. He uses his building skills and experience to create homes that are not only better for the environment, but more importantly for the people (and pets) who live in those homes.
Akos works out of a small workshop and office building close to Isaac’s zero-energy family home in NE Portland’s Cully Neighborhood. Isaac’s wife Cristin works closely with the business/operations and his father, Greg, oversees the bookkeeping and accounting. Spencer, Isaac & Cristin’s son, frequently visits to contribute joyful chaos and morale to the office.
