In this reimagined 1950s residence, the heart of the home was reoriented to embrace its natural surroundings. The kitchen—once at the front—was relocated to the rear, opening to sweeping views and daylight. A subtle expansion into the former garage created a light-filled addition with a generous kitchen, mudroom, and powder room. Honoring the home’s mid-century soul, original details were reinterpreted: tray ceilings were recreated, and fir-trimmed doors echo the vintage character, creating harmony between past and present. A vibrant pop of Fireclay Tile adds a playful, retro-inflected touch. To prepare for future lower-level living, a new stairwell was seamlessly integrated into the home’s flow—so natural it feels as if it had always been there. The result is a home that respects its roots while offering fresh, modern ease.
